In this episode of Media Coffee we speak to John Jannarone, founder and Editor-in-Chief of CorpGov, about the best ways to communicate with ESG journalists.
Based in the US, John’s career spans everything from investment banking to writing for media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and CNBC.
CorpGov is dedicated to objective journalism that reports and analyses today’s most vital corporate governance issues.
3 of John’s top tips for pitching ESG journalists:
- Try to picture how a journalist would cover a story when pitching your press release to the reporter
- Journalists are more likely to focus on governance (board members, stakeholders etc) that the environmental or social aspects of ESG
- The middle of the week is best to pitch ESG journalists – avoid doing so on Fridays
