Jan Wachtel has been appointed President of Bauer Media Group’s Publishing Business Area, effective on 1 January 2023. Jan is a media and publishing specialist and has worked with companies including Axel Springer, BILD, and RTL Group, where he was on the Executive Board. He is currently Co-CEO Firstlead GmbH - Adcell - an affiliate network.

Dasha Afanasieva (@dasha_reports) is now a Consumer Goods Reporter for Bloomberg in London. She was previously at Reuters, working as a Breakingviews Columnist.

Malique Morris (@luxeoflique) is now a Direct-to-Consumer Reporter at The Business of Fashion. Malique joins the team from The Information, where he was Retail & E-Commerce Reporter.

Cosmopolitan UK
Keeks Reid (@keeksreid) has been promoted to Contributing Beauty Editor at Cosmopolitan UK, where she was previously a Beauty Contributor. In her new role Keeks will support with the curation and execution of beauty features and larger projects, with a special focus on hair content. She would like to hear about any beauty news, product launches and events. Keeks will also continue working as a freelance beauty journalist.

Loupe is a new digital travel and lifestyle platform launching in autumn 2022. Led by a team of former Condé Nast Traveller editors, Loupe (www.loupe-uk.com) looks at the UK through a fresh lens. It will cover not just a curated collection of the best places to stay, eat, shop and things to do, but will also have a keen eye on fashion, culture, wellness, adventure, sustainability and design stories from across our shores. The editorial team includes Creative Director Melinda Stevens, Editor-in-Chief Issy von Simson, Deputy Editor Fiona Kerr, Content Editor Tabitha Joyce, Content Coordinator Katharine Sohn and Picture Editor Anna Morassutti-Vitale. The Scott Trust, shareholder of Guardian Media Group, has announced the appointment of journalist and author Margaret Simons to its board. Dr Margaret Simons is an award-winning journalist, author, and journalism academic. She is Honorary Principal Fellow at the Centre for Advancing Journalism, part of the University of Melbourne. She was director of the centre from 2012 until 2017, and was a founding director of Australia’s Public Interest Journalism Initiative from 2018 until 2021. She is also a founding director of the hyperlocal journalism startup *PS Media.
