Melissa Walton has been appointed Managing Editor of The Actuary, the trade publication from Redactive Media Group. Melissa has 25 years’ experience as a journalist, most recently as Editor of The Clerkenwell Post.

BBC World Service
Fiona Crack (@fionacrack) has been appointed News Controller, Content, for World Service Languages. Together with Tarik Kafala (News Controller, Output) Fiona will lead a planning, commissioning, newsgathering and production hub.

Citizen Femme
Becki Murray (@beckimurray)  is now Contributing Beauty Editor at Citizen Femme, where she’ll be overseeing the beauty and spa vertical. She is interested in luxury beauty, spa and wellness launches as well as potential brand partnerships for 2023 and beyond. Becki will continue to freelance, with a focus on science-led copywriting and article commissions.

Guardian Media Group has announced the appointment of Ete Davies as a Non-Executive Director to the GMG board. He is currently EMEA Chief Operating Officer at Dentsu Creative (Dentsu International’s global creative network). Ete sits on the advisory boards of several D&I initiatives, including Creative Equals, and is co-founder of CultureHeroes, whose mission is to create opportunities for Black, Asian and minority ethnic talent across the creative industries.

Jerome O’Connell (@JeromeSport) has been promoted to News Editor for the Limerick Leader and Limerick Live. Jerome has worked for the title for over 20 years; his most recent role was as GAA Correspondent.

Gemma Bradley (@GemBrad) has been appointed Magistrates Court Reporter for the Liverpool Echo, joining them from PA Media.

Matthew Dresch (@matthewdresch) is now a Features Writer for the Sunday Mirror and Sunday People, joining from the Daily Mirror’s news desk.

Reuters
Chiara Elisei, previously Managing Editor at Debtwire Europe, has moved to Reuters. Chiara is now Chief Credit Correspondent, EMEA, and is still based in London. She can be reached via email.

Sky News
John Ryley is to step down as Head of Sky News after 17 years, effective in spring 2023. He has been with Sky for 28 years, becoming Executive Editor in 2000 and Head of News six years later.
