Alison Boshoff (@alisonboshoff) has been promoted to Chief Showbiz Writer at the Daily Mail, writing a weekly column for the paper, taking over from Baz Bamigboye. She will continue to write for Femail, Daily Mail News and MailOnline.

Deadline
Jesse Whittock has joined Deadline as International TV Co-Editor. He will be working alongside Max Goldbart, who holds the same title. Jesse was previously Insight Editor at Broadcast.

Rachel Avery (@rachelavery) has been promoted to Senior Homes & Parenting Writer for HELLO! Online; she will be covering homewares, interiors trends, household tips, real-life home stories and property statistics as well as baby products, parenting advice and real-life parenting stories.

Historic Scotland
Indira Mann has been appointed Editor of Historic Scotland magazine. She is currently a Communications & Knowledge Exchange Executive for Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage.

Incisive Media
Incisive Media and its titles have been acquired by two media and events businesses, Arc and The Channel Company. Under the terms of the deal, Incisive Media and its finance and sustainability brands have been bought by UK-based Arc, the global data, events and media platform best-known for its portfolio of agriculture titles, including Farmers Guardian and its associated events. The acquired titles are Investment Week, Professional Pensions, Professional Adviser, Cover, International Investment, Financial Services Forum and BusinessGreen. Meanwhile, Incisive’s technology titles Computing, CRN and Channel Partner Insight CPI) are acquired by US-based The Channel Company. This deal reunites CRN with its market-leading US counterpart – also called CRN. Both Arc and The Channel Company are backed by investment funds managed by US-based Eagle Tree Capital.

Sharn Rayment (@Sharnlr) has been appointed Senior Digital Producer (freelance) for the next season of ITV’s Love Island. Sharn will oversee all social content production and output across the 2022 series.

Reuters has launched the newsletter Sustainable Switch, which covers the latest ESG news and how to make sustainable business decisions. Sustainable Switch is written and curated by Sharon Kits Kimathi, Energy and ESG Editor, Reuters Digital. The newsletter is free and comes out every Tuesday and Thursday.

Yousra Elbagir (@YousraElbagir) will join Sky News this summer in the role of Africa Correspondent. Naomi Smart, previously British Vogue’s Shopping Director, was appointed Commerce Director at the title in October, 2021. She now leads the Commerce Team, which includes Joy Montgomery, who joins British Vogue as Senior Commerce Writer. Montgomery previously worked at Who What Wear. Henrik Lischke, previously from The Sunday Times Style has also joined the affiliates shopping features team as Commerce Writer. They collectively cover fashion, beauty, interiors and travel.

WIRED
Rob Reddick (@redique) has been appointed Science Editor (UK), where he will be leading coverage of health, biotech, climate, energy, space and robotics. Rob was previously Commissioning Editor, COVID-19 at The Conversation UK.
