Joanne Vaughan-Jones, Executive Producer of Special Events for BBC One’s flagship evening programme The One Show, has been appointed as its new Editor. Joanne succeeds Rob Unsworth, who left recently to become the BBC’s Head of Daytime and Early Peak commissioning.

Michele Theil (@micheletheil) has started a new role as a Reporter for The Big Issue. Michele, who joins from Insider, will focus on climate and environment reporting.

Financial Times
The Financial Times has announced a series of leadership changes in the newsroom and at FT Weekend:
After nearly seven years as FT Weekend Editor, Alec Russell will move to the new role of Foreign Editor. Janine Gibson will take over as FT Weekend editor. Janine has played an instrumental role in the FT's digital success since joining the FT in 2019. These changes take effect from 1 March 2023.
After four years as News Editor, Matthew Garrahan has been appointed Head of Digital Platforms and Strategy and will write a biweekly column.
Tom Braithwaite will become News Editor, having been Companies Editor for the past four years.
Anne-Sylvaine Chassany has been appointed Companies Editor and an Assistant Editor. She joined the FT as Private Equity Correspondent more than a decade ago, before serving as Paris Bureau Chief and then World News Editor. The three newsroom changes will take effect at the end of January 2023.

Irish Farmers Journal
Stephen Robb (@stephenrobbdl) recently took on a new role as Renewables Editor at the Irish Farmers Journal. Stephen has reported on tillage, agricultural innovation and renewables at the title for almost five years.

Luxury London
Annie Lewis (@AnnieLewis_) is now Assistant Digital Editor at Luxury London. Annie, previously Project Editor at APL Media, will be covering lifestyle, food & drink, health & fitness, fashion, beauty and travel.

Newsquest
Ryan Evans (@RyanE_journo) has been appointed Digital Audience & Content Editor at Newsquest, working across the Swindon Advertiser, Wiltshire Times and the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald. Ryan was previously a Court and Crime Reporter.

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson is to join Virgin Radio UK as a new drivetime presenter. Ricky will officially join the weekday drivetime show (4pm-7pm) from 9 January 2023.
