Josh Stephenson has joined Marketing Week as Features Editor on a fixed-term contract, covering for Charlotte Rogers. Josh was previously Deputy TV Editor and Senior Staff Writer at Metro.co.uk.

BBC Northern Ireland
Adam Smyth has been named as the new Director of BBC Northern Ireland with immediate effect. Adam has been the Interim Director of the BBC in Northern Ireland since December 2021. Adam takes over the role from Peter Johnston, who was recently appointed the Director of Editorial Complaints and Reviews.

Financial Times
Laura Hughes (@Laura_K_Hughes) is joining the FT’s special investigations team following her maternity leave. Laura has worked at the paper for over five years and was previously Political & Diplomatic Correspondent.

idobi Radio
Jack Rogers (@JackMRog), previously at Rock Sound, is now Editor-in-Chief of idobi Radio. Jack works remotely and remains based in the UK.

ITV 
Jessica Commons (@jess_commons) has been named Head of Editorial for Woo, ITV’s digital media wellness brand and marketplace. Jess was previously with Refinery29 as Director, Life and Editorial Operations. 

Newsquest
George Henry King (@GeorgeHenryKing) has been promoted to Digital Audience and Content Editor for Newsquest’s North East Essex titles. George has worked at Newsquest since 2019.

Rock Sound
Rock Sound has been acquired by whynow Media after facing closure at the start of 2023. The music news website and online store have been relaunched; details about the future of the print magazine will be revealed in due course. James Wilson-Taylor (@mrjaytee) has returned as Creative Director.

Rugby Journal
James Price has joined Rugby Journal and Sporting Eric as Junior Writer and will work across all Rugby Journal platforms, including the print quarterly and therugbyjournal.com, as well as the wider Sporting Eric portfolio covering golf, badminton and wellbeing.


Freelance Update - Beth Mahoney
Beth Mahoney (@lablogbeaute) is looking for freelance work in copywriting, social media, email marketing and PR. Beth is open to short-term and longer-term projects and is available to start immediately. She is also open to commerce writing and freelance journalistic commissions.
