Barnet Post
Previously an online-only title, the Barnet Post will be launching a free monthly print edition from July with a circulation of 15,000. The independent title, which first launched digitally in February, will be available to pick up from community venues including cafes, pubs, libraries, community centres, hair salons and places of worship, alongside some door-to-door distribution. Bella Saltiel is the Editor.

Channel 4 
Channel 4 has appointed Mel Bezalel as Commissioning Editor for E4, reporting into Head of Youth and Digital, Karl Warner. Joining in August from RDF Television, in the new role, Bezalel will be focused on finding, developing and overseeing a range of original, large scale unscripted commissions aimed at 16-34s, as well as further developing the relationship between E4 and All 4 growth.

The Liberation Initiatives 
The Liberation Initiatives, a black-owned business and force for systematic change against the social and economic disadvantages faced by the black community, is partnering with award-winning creative agency Rhapsody to launch five A4 magazines to be distributed as part of a national broadsheet newspaper during October 2021 to celebrate Black History Month. The five magazines will each cover a key theme: Arts & Entertainment, Fashion & Beauty, Sport & Wellbeing, Criminal Justice & Finance and Allyship, and each will have a prominent figure in the black community as its guest editor. The titles are looking for writers, editors and photographers to shape the content, as well as black-owned restaurants, brands, businesses, charities and organisations, and exhibitions, books, films and TV shows that champion black talent.  If interested in contributing, or for editorial enquiries, please email Sally McIlhone.

Mark Allen Group
Mark Allen Group has announced the acquisition of 13 magazines and newsletters from Elsevier Limited, part of the RELX Group. This portfolio comprises four magazines (Metal Powder Report, Reinforced Plastics, World Pumps and Filtration & Separation) and nine newsletters (Additives for Polymers, Biometric Technology Today, Computer Fraud and Security, Filtration Industry Analyst, Fuel Cells Bulletin, Membrane Technology, Network Security, Pump Industry Analyst, and Sealing Technology). The publications will come under the umbrella of MA Business.

Thomson Reuters Foundation 
The Thomson Reuters Foundation, the charitable arm of the world’s largest news and information provider, has appointed Yasir Khan as Editor-in-Chief to lead its team of reporters and oversee the digital transformation of its news offering. Khan will join the Foundation on 20 July from Euronews, where he is currently Editor-in-Chief of Digital Platforms. He has more than 20 years of journalism experience across a raft of major international news outlets including Al Jazeera, CBC, CNN and National Geographic.

Managing Editor Fabrizio Dalle Nogare has launched the website Sustainable Truck&Van, which is focused on low- and zero-emissions trucks and vans as well as sustainability in the field of heavy-duty and commercial vehicle transport. The site, viewable here, aims to support and promote the push towards energy transition in this form of transport.
